Instagram Reveals New Chronological Feed

Instagram revealed some BIG changes to our feed in 2022 (and probably one of the biggest updates so far). If you're tired of missing out on your friend's and favourite creators posts because of Instagram's current algorithm-dependent feed, this might bring you some peace.

Not only will it be reintroducing a chronological feed option, but users will now have 3 different feeds to choose from.

Home feed: this is the same experience to the feed you have now. The app ranks content based on how interested it thinks you are.

Following feed: your new chronological (!!) feed. This means you’ll be able to see the latest post that has been posted by accounts you follow, just like the old Instagram.

Favourites feed: a list of accounts that you want to make sure you don’t miss things from.

Mosseri, the head of Instagram, says these new feed options are already out for some users and Instagram expects to roll out this feature to more users in a couple of weeks, with the full experience available to all users in the first half of 2022.
