Belmond La Residencia

During the summer, we had the pleasure to stay at one of the stunning 47 Belmond hotels, Belmond La Residencia.

We landed in Mallorca airport and decided to rent a car, then drove 1 hour to Deià, where Belmond La Residencia is located. We would highly advise picking up a rental car as public transport can be quite limited in the area.

Belmond La Residencia features 47 rooms, each with their own breathtaking views of the carefully groomed and maintained gardens and surrounding mountains, a buffet breakfast (which is still think about), two tennis courts and two public pools. Each of the Belmond hotels boasts their own personality and charm, with its 16th and 17th century buildings, you'll find yourself surrounded by rich Spanish culture and luxury.

The hotel also has an art gallery and sculpture garden with an artist and sculptor in residence.In terms of location, Belmond is somewhat secluded therefore perfect for those looking for a relaxing holiday away from it all. However, it is still located in the main part of Deià, so you'll be walking distance from all of the local bars and restaurants.

Although, you probably wont want to look too far, as you'll find El Olivo, Belmond's in house restaurant a few steps away from your suite. It serves an inventive continental menu that includes eclectic but delicious dishes, such as lobster with jamón ibérico. It's also a 20-minute walk to Cala Deià which offers an incredibly scenic spot for swimming, sun bathing, and dining.

The layout of the hotel offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and village, it is both peaceful and serene, with natural beauty everywhere you look. Guests (including ourselves) are guaranteed pass the time in complete awe, emphasised by a lazy dip in the pool or, at most, a spa treatment. Belmond La Residencia is a seasonal property and is open from March through November.
